Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly
Job Description:
- Read, understand, and relate the engineering drawings to assembly or test sequence and process.
- Established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties in the Assembly area.
- Develop assembly working instructions, covering lifting practice, ergonomics, workmanship standards, and process documents , and ensure they are followed.
- Fully participate as required in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities where assembly operations are required.
- Address problems in processing, programming, tool design, standards development and application, acquisition of tools and equipment, layout, processing, material composition, assembly planning, heat-treat, chemistry, and /or automated storage systems, etc.

- Maintain awareness of technological advances in processing, material composition, automation of material movement, and /or machine capability. This knowledge is used to provide input into project assignments in an Assembly area of the shop.
- Evaluate and investigate shop problems and follow-up on recommendations. You will work within generally defined procedures and guidelines but have the latitude to evaluate and solve common manufacturing process problems. Guidance is available from Senior Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Project Engineers.
- Evaluate engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiate and implement all changes.
- Assists with the more complex issues related to deciding capital requirements, developing systems or databases, or equipment and systems integration.
- Provides evaluation and recommendations needed to allow manufacturing to produce the engineering product designs. Provides effective communication and services in solving production problems or pursuing operations improvements. Simulates present and future machine lines and cells to predict line flow problems and makes recommendations for implementation.
