KEPRI POST - Taking the bitter pill, namely being laid off by the company, does not necessarily discourage Baidi. He took the initiative to become an entrepreneur so that the wheels of the economy would continue to run.

“My company used to be a furniture exporter to the United States. But because of the WTC bombing tragedy, companies can no longer export there. A number of employees have been laid off, including me," said Baidi when met at his home, Babakan Village, Mustikajaya, Bekasi.

However, his 23 years of experience in a furniture company became the capital for starting a small business independently. Baidi makes various furniture products according to the orders of its customers.

"One of my customers, Mrs. Nunung Nuriti. I make all the orders, until he is the one who exports," he said.

One such order is an educational toy. "Ms. Nunung is also an UKM player. He was the one who helped fund my business, so that in the end the tools were donated to me,” he added.

Baidi's initial business capital at that time in 2012 was only IDR 3 million. "I bought multifunctional production equipment for IDR 2.2 million, and the rest was used to build the workshop floor," said Baidi.

From his work experience in the woodworking sector, from being an operator to being head of production, this man who graduated from agriculture knows a lot of furniture companies.

From these companies, he obtains raw materials at low prices, and even uses waste or leftover production from the factory.
