Quality Engineer
As Quality Engineer, you will:
- Perform quality management and operation in a safe manner.
- Design or coordinate required tooling, equipment, materials, and innovative alternative solution plans for the tasks to be done. Develop Quality metrics and Checklists following APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Document.
- Plan and audit the quality of technicians’ jobs including NDT (Nondestructive Testing), metallurgical, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), Assembly, and mechanical property tests.
- Manage the lab cost and purchase lab equipment, tools, and gauges.
- Support Audit for Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV), as required by Process Compliance Supervisor.
- Have direct contact and interact with CIB (Caterpillar Indonesia Batam) Quality/Engineering/Operation teams, Product Groups, Design teams, Management, Supply chain team, Service engineers, SQEs, and CAT dealers to complete analysis and problem-solving. Collect/analyze quality data and investigate non-conformance to determine permanent resolution.
- Function in a staff capacity in a particular phase of Quality Assurance responsibilities in assigned areas, including product test procedures and specifications, performing audits, improvements of product reliability, and customer satisfaction through support of the NPI (New Product Introduction) program.
- Implement the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot checks, explaining the validation reasons, and encouraging all employees to make contributions to achieve zero defects in operations.
- Impacts key quality goals including Continuous Improvement, Process Quality, Partner in Quality, Internal Quality Certification, ISO (International Standards Organization) 9000 Certification, etc.

The successful candidate must bring:
- Proficient in the English language.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering/Manufacturing with an excellent understanding of quality management practices or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 (three) years of working experience in quality management and customer complaint.
- Thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, ISO 9000, etc.
- Quality tools knowledge and ability to teach manufacturing/office employees how to properly apply quality tools or techniques.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- Good analysis, diagnostic and judgment skills, and good computer skills.
- Have strong knowledge of problem-solving techniques – 7 QC tools.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- QC (Quality Control) related certifications (GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing) (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing), QMS (Quality Management System), 6 Sigma, CQA, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), etc.) would be advantages.
- Experience in operating SAP and QM (Quality Management) is preferred.
- Effective communication, cooperation, and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
