Manufacturing Engineer - Heat Treatment, Shot Blast & Painting
Job Description:
- Read, understand, and relate the engineering drawings to heat treatment, shot blast, paint sequence and process.
- Established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties in assigned area.
- Develop working instructions, covering lifting practice, ergonomics, workmanship standards and process documents , and ensure they are followed.
- Fully participate as required in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities where painting, shot blast and heat treatment operations are required.
- Address problems in processing, programming, tool design, standards development and application, acquisition of tools and equipment, layout, processing, material composition, heat treat, shot blast and paint, etc.
- Maintain awareness of technological advances in processing, material composition, automation of material movement and /or machine capability. This knowledge is used to provide input into project assignments in assigned areas of the shop.
- Evaluate and investigate shop problems and follow-up on recommendations. You will work within defined procedures and guidelines but have the latitude to evaluate and solve common manufacturing process problems. Guidance is available from Senior Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Project Engineers.
- Evaluate engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates, and implements all changes.
- Assists with the more complex issues related to deciding capital requirements, developing systems or databases, or equipment and systems integration.
- Provides evaluation and recommendations needed to allow manufacturing to produce engineering product designs. Provides effective communication and services in solving production problems or pursuing operations improvements. Simulates present and future machine lines and cells to predict line flow problems and makes recommendations for implementation.
The successful candidate must bring:
- Good proficiency in English.
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Painting or Manufacturing Engineering-related degree.
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience as a Painting/Coating Engineer or similar role.

Top candidates will also bring:
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar industries.
- Able to create 3D (3 Dimension) design using design software like SolidWorks, Teamcenter, JT2go, etc.
- Experience in improvement projects with Six Sigma or other methodology.
- Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
